Tea and coffee afternoon

This afternoon 2RR had a chance to work along side their parents and some year 4 children to make play dough and slime. Once they had made the play dough each child created an under or over the sea creature. Three prizes went out to the three children who tried and worked their hardest. Well done Aidan, Jack and Lucy. The winners were picked by the helpful year 4. We then moved onto make slime which didn't go according to plan but the parents and children still had a blast. Thank to the parents who came :)

Britain's got talent show

I am super proud of the girls who stood in front of the whole school and sang a song. They were very nervous but they did it! #proudmoment2RR (sorry if it is upside down, it wouldn't let me turn it around)

Homework

Please practise the songs for Pirates vs Mermaids. The show is in 4 weeks. The children have all now been given their parts. Here is a link to a full version of the show on YouTube.

Literacy- Power of Reading

In literacy, 2RR have been creating story maps of what has happened so far in Beegu. They created the map by drawing the main events in order of which they happened. From this the children wrote about the feelings and emotions of Beegu and other characters, they then wrote adjectives that best describe the scene and finally they wrote four different types of sentences; commands, statements, questions and exclamations. As a teacher I am super proud of their work, they tried their very best. Keep it up!

Attendance reward

2RR won best attendance for last term so we have celebrated it with a pajamas and film afternoon with popcorn, sweets and juice. Well done 2RR, lets try and win it again this term and have another special celebratory afternoon!

Monday 5 March 2018

Maths

2RR have been learning about symmetry today, we have been looking at vertical and horizontal lines of symmetry in different shapes. We have also been tackling some test style questions to help prepare us. Well done!

Attendance

Unfortunately, following our super attendance last month, last week it really suffered...
Last week's average total was only:
90.4%
We really cannot stress enough how important it is that you are in school everyday wherever possible and that you are on time- otherwise you miss sessions and miss important and fun learning.

We understand that last week's weather was less than ideal and caused delays but please can we work together and have a really big push to get our attendance up again. We are aiming to exceed 96%. Some of you are here everyday so well done please keep that up!!!

Come on 2RR, lets beat it this week!

Thanks Miss Ellison

We've had a fantastic time today visiting India, Australia, France and the USA for our launch. We've done art, dodgeball, learned a new language, food tasting and even some bush tucker trials!! Here are a few pictures of 2RR experiencing France by taking part in French bingo, French Simon says, word searches and drawings. They all learnt the names of body parts in French.
